Niagra Falls

Niagra falls was such a spin out! When I went to Canada, it hadn’t occurred to me to go and visit this place, but I am glad and grateful that we did. I was blown away by its size and its intensity and more than anything there was just this recurring thought that kept going through my mind when I was there – “I know the God who created this place and He, calls me friend!”. Etched in my memory is that vision of tonnes and tonnes of white foaming water as it cascaded down the cliffs, the roaring sounds created by the power and majesty of my awesome God in all His masculine glory. I imagine God, looking a bit like Tim the Toolman Taylor in his garage – when He spoke this place into being. Revving it up like it was his own special toy…”This is My hot rod Sorubi”, I imagine Him saying, “…see the noise it makes…see the power…Yeah!!”

Yet simultaneously this God, this strong fierce, BIG God who died for me on the cross conquered death and destruction is the same God who leads me into the desert and speaks tenderly to me and then quiets me with His love… [Hosea 2:14;Zephaniah 3:17]

“He makes springs pour water into the ravines; it flows between the mountains…” Psalm 104:10

My God is so BIG, so strong and so mighty, there’s nothing, my God cannot do! [an old sunday school song]
